“The Secret Cinematic Sound Of Jimmy Urine” – Jimmy Urine (of Mindless Self Indulgence) Introspective lyrics and creative harmonies distinguish Asher’s sound from others, and layers of ambient sound fill things out. In the style of Tegan and Sara, she combines clean, catchy hooks with upbeat snyth rhythms to create a warm, atmospheric tone. “Turn It Low” and “Protect This Love” – Victoria Asher (of Cobra Starship) as Vicky-TĪsher’s new sound is, at it’s core, alt-pop. Farro has created a kind of alt-pop version of Calvin Harris: just as catchy and summery, but with more substance and feeling. 80s-inspired synth waves flow through the music, and couple with the occasional groovy bassline to bring the syncopated instrumentals to the forefront. From reverb-drenched vocals to wavering, vibrating synths and scattered drums, the album is an alt-pop dream. “Sudden Feeling” will make you feel delightfully nostalgic.

They drive the hazy, 80s-style electro-pop forwards, adding texture and urgency to the ethereal, twinkling soundscapes that threaten to escape the boundaries of the songs themselves. “For The Night To Control” – Mikey Way (of My Chemical Romance) as Electric Centuryīecause the younger Way is a bass player, it’s understandable that his newest project is focused on riveting, dynamic, syncopated basslines. Peculiar, quirky, and catchy, the album is a marked break from everything Fall Out Boy has done, and though obviously experimental, successfully exposes an entirely different aspect of Stump’s musical interests. Free from the constraints of being part of a huge, concept-driven band, Iero has gotten personal, screaming his heart out over battering guitar riffs. It feels like a more successful continuation of what frnkiero andthe cellabration began. Iero has already formed three projects since MCR’s breakup, and each has their own merit, but “Parachutes” sees Iero exploring more straight-forward punk. “Parachutes” – Frank Iero (of My Chemical Romance) as Frank Iero and the Patience Fuzz, glam rock, amped-up snyths, and British rock all find their place on this album, coming together in a crashing, alt-pop infused wave. If you ever wondered what a more modern, more punk rock-inspired David Bowie would sound like, this album is your answer. It seems that after My Chemical Romance, Way wanted to cram every other musical influence into one album. “Hesitant Alien” – Gerard Way (of My Chemical Romance) Each clean riff builds on the sense of intimacy established by the close vocals and tasteful drums, and the result is both suave and rawly emotional.
